New pod: What The Apprentice is really like
Jackie Fast was robbed #TeamJackie.
She was by far the best candidate in the last season of The Apprentice (which might be a low bar in terms of compliments, but stay with us), and was given Lord Sugar's wrinkled old finger with the spurious excuse that he didn't feel she needed his help as much as the other contestants.
So we went round Jackie's flash east London apartment and asked her what the real story was, and what it was really like being at the centre of a media whirlwind ('Instagram following went through the roof, Twitter hardly moved').
Then we talked about loads of things, from backpacking from Canada to Tooting, and staying for twenty years, what it's like being a young woman in the male dominated sports business, why she's giving up her ESA board position, how she built and sold Slingshot Sponsorship, and what she wants to do next.
I didn't really know Jackie beyond bumping in to her at work do's and conferences, and so didn't really know what to expect from our interview. I came away really liking her, and respecting her for the work she's done and most of all for the sheer determination and chutzpah with which she approaches everything.
